Vine Evangelical Baptist Church
The Église Evangélique Baptiste de la Vigne (The Vine Evangelical Baptist Church) was formed in 1989 through the ministry of Pastor LeRoy and Evelyn Dick along with Pastor Joel & Madame Marie Saint Amour. With an initial beginning under a grove of banana trees, two home groups of about 28 persons began to study the Bible. Eventually they moved into a storefront property and in 2004 land was purchased to build the present church.
The Vine Church is a vibrant New Testament Church, worshipping the Risen Jesus. Multiple choirs and singing groups, Bible Studies, Women’s and Children’s ministries, along with food and medicine distribution are hallmarks of this amazing congregation. Located near the heart of the capital city of Port-au-Prince, the church has been on the front line of navigating the challenges which are life in Haiti. Church members have been kidnapped, killed, deprived of homes and livelihood due to the gangs taking over the capital. Through it all Vine Church has not missed a single Sunday morning worship service. Praise God! Church activities during the week and evenings are held online due to security concerns. None of the everyday challenges keep the Vine Church from proclaiming Jesus as Lord and Savior to a hurting and needy world.
As you may imagine their needs are great. The Church is seeking to provide medical practitioners for 2 hours each Sunday morning to provide for the medical needs of the congregation. The cost is $4,000 per year.
