OCTOBER 2021

We are grateful to God the students are registered for school. The first day was September 6th. This year has been difficult and different in some respects. As you know, we did not go to Haiti personally this year to register children for school. We did have capable people in our place to handle the transactions. We praise God he was able to place 200 children in school. This is not a small feat and takes a lot of work. Yet not all the children were able to provide a photo for us to send to you. As we gain information on your students, I will be sending that to you. As you can see from the photo, these children are ready for another year of learning.

Looking through their pictures, I am reminded these kids had a difficult year. Political violence, earthquake, kidnapping, and general uncertainty was not just a political action or something they watched on TV. These actions are happening in their own communities. I am sure they feel the effects of this trauma in ways they may not notice right away. Please pray for them for strength, peace, and safety. Pray for their families, and for their church community, so they may feel supported and safe.

Your help is on the way to victims of the earthquake. Pastor Daniel and the Deacons have identified forty families to receive help. Each family unit represents 1 to 8 people. How much they receive is dependent upon how many are in the family. More than 90% of these have lost their homes.  Although home rebuilding is expensive, this will help them begin to rebuild their life. You, our contributors, have responded with over $11,000.

With the country in disarray, it is difficult to personally take food, clothing, or necessities to them. They have found the easiest and safest way to quickly distribute funds is through cell phone payments. The money is personally wired to each one.

The expansion of the Clinic is well under way. We are so thankful for your generous giving toward this project. I was able to send $3500 to Dr. Mirhioll to continue the work at the Delma 19 location. We still need $3,200 to finish the remodel. We are praying for funds to complete this by year end. A video showing the Dr. offices can be seen on YouTube.

To contribute for this project, you may send a check marked “Clinic Expansion” to our address: Vine Ministry, PO Box 967, Goshen, IN 46527 or a donation may be made securely through our website.

67% of the General Fund was met.

Thank you for your kind heart in reaching out to Haiti through your prayers and resources that the kingdom of God may go forward through all difficulties.

Our prayers are for our brothers and sisters of Haiti. May the peace of God that surpasses all understanding guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:7
