SEPTEMBER 2017

Our hearts are blessed. We have seen and spoken to all supported students and their families this week. Almost all the students from last year are continuing this year. 158 students will now be attending school this year. 11 have graduated and did not return. A few have left the country because their family sought work in other areas, and a few students will be attending University. Photos of the students, if you supported a child, will soon be sent to you.

Please enjoy the photographs of the trip this year. Amy Self from West Goshen Church of the Brethren, a talented photographer, captured the joy of the students while Jo Dick assisted her. These two ladies quickly made the children feel comfortable. Additional photos can be found on Facebook through Amy Self, Jo Dick, James Dick or Evelyn Dick

We were able to visit with Pastor Daniel and his wife Ann at their home. All of us were thankful for the 4-wheel drive vehicle as the terrain was difficult. Daniel and Ann are very gracious hosts and their children a blessing. While there, we looked at the roof where we would like to put solar panels to provide electricity. We do not have enough funds for this project yet, but money designated for Daniel’s solar power will go directly to this project.

Our greatest thanks to you for supporting these children for school.

We are looking forward to seeing many of you as we travel to churches this fall October 22 through 29. If you would like us to visit with your church or mission group, please email the following details to Jimandjo.geo@yahoo.com by September 15: your contact information, church name & address, Pastor’s name & phone number, and three dates of your choosing (between October 22nd & October 29th) (we will confirm the date we are able to accommodate).
