JANUARY 2022

Following is a portion of Pastor Daniel Telforts recent letter from this Christmas:

Now let me take some time to wish you a MERRY CHRISTMAS 2021 and a HAPPY NEW YEAR 2022. The world is upside-down. Many are hopeless. But we know Emmanuel can give a sense to our lives. In fact, he has since we have received Him as our personal Savior. May the joy of Christmas be yours and your family’s.

Greetings from Port-au-Prince Haiti in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who has left his glorious domain to tabernacle among us to save us from the bondage of sin. May the peace of Emmanuel be ours, even when we must face the trials of this life. May this Christmas season fill us with joy, even if this world influenced by the devil is doing everything possible to snatch our joy away.

Thank you for praying for us in Haiti. By God’s grace, Anne, Hadassa (10 years) and Junior (7 years) are doing well despite all the troubles we have been facing in Haiti.

Praise God! The American 17 Missionaries were released. Things are still rough though. Nothing has really changed despite some efforts from the national police against the gangsters. They are still kidnapping people. In fact, a very close friend of mine, former member of the Vine church was kidnapped two weeks ago. He was kept

hostage for two days after some family members collected every penny they could find to pay a ransom. Three others were kidnapped with him. But since the relatives of the other guys were not able to find the money asked by the gangsters, my friend has been falsely accused of being in connivance with the gangsters in kidnapping the three others. He and his wife are under the threat of death. They sacked his housed. As a result, he cannot go home. He is considering selling his house and leaving the area he used to live or possibly leaving the country. Please pray for him. His name is Bency Marthy.

Praise God, the gas shortage has been reduced. But at the same time things may get worse; the government has decided to raise the gas price. Basically, doubling the price of diesel. That means everything else has gotten more expensive.

I have been very busy these days, as the Lord allowed us to physically resume classes at the seminary while my other responsibilities (pastoral ministry and Bible Translation) have become heavy on my schedule, as it has always been that way every year-end.

We still have our Sunday morning worship service. Praise God more people are coming back to Church even if the insecurity is still high.

We praise the Lord for the online Bible translation workshop the last two weeks of December. It was intense. We worked from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM every day on Isaiah. It went well despite internet and electricity problems. But praise God, we finish checking Isaiah. Please, pray while I work on books like Haggai, Malachi, Ecclesiastes, and part of Zechariah and Jeremiah.

We are thrilled to announce we held our baptism service on Saturday 25 December for 24 new members. We praise the Lord also for 24 people new members who have joined through affiliation. And soon, there are 7 more who will join us through affiliation. Praise God! Please, pray for these new members. May they stand for Christ, bearing his name boldly in this world of darkness.

Remembrance of the 2010 Earthquake

We remember the earthquake of January 12, 2010, which killed an estimated 300,000 people. Those who lived through this will never forget this awful experience. God is very good even when disaster strikes. So, we lift praise to the One who keeps us through it all.

Thank you so much for your prayers. Thank you for faithfully supporting God’s work in Haiti. May God bless you and your family.

December: General Fund was met by 135%

All last year: General Fund was met by 77%

Thank you each and every one for your faithful prayerful support throughout 2021.
