July 2024
On June 26, Kenyan Police Forces began landing in Haiti. It remains to be seen what effect this deployment will have on the nation. Please be in prayer as the interim government and these forces begin their duties. Over 300,000 children (out of 580,000+ total) have been displaced from their homes in the last 4 months. Our DHS has extended Temporary Protected Status for Haiti until Feb. 2026. This means the 309,000 Haitians already in the US can apply to remain in the US who are otherwise eligible. This designation is due to continued violence and insecurity and limited access to safety, health care, food, and water, along with other humanitarian challenges.
To date, 102 students have been supported for the coming year. We will be able to assist a few more than that but that is the count so far. There is still time to send in your response form or sign up online.
On August 18th I will be speaking at the Blue Ball Community Church in Blue Ball, PA. This is the Church Evelyn and her family attended until she was about 13. Evelyn will actually be there for worship on August 4th. Watch out for her!! (Maybe I should say “look out” for her.)
As of June 30, $23,525 has been received for the Temp Food Support Program. What a blessing it has been to those who receive assistance (approximately 40 families).
We are grateful for your continued prayers and financial support.
In Christ,
Greg
