It is with great joy that we honor one of our students. Mozart Santiago is finishing University. Mozart has been supported through Vine Ministry since he was in 2nd grade. He has worked very hard and attended school regularly. We are proud of him and the effort he has made through these years.

Thank you for your great initial response to getting children into school for the next school year. We are already almost 40% of the way there.

The dead line is August 1st. Please send your support soon so we will know how many children can be supported this year. 

To support a student for next year, please let us know how many students you are supporting. For each student, the cost is $360/year or $30/month.

Evelyn, Jo and Jim had a wonderful trip visiting friends of Vine Ministry last May. Our first stop was Myerstown Church of the Brethren. This was special because this is the church LeRoy and Evelyn were married in 1951. 

We were hosted by Grace Zeigler. She graciously shared her home with us and loaded us up with goodies to see us thru to our next location. 

While we were in Myerstown on Mother’s Day Sunday we received news that our daughter Courtney was in labor. We weren’t expecting this little one to be born until June, but she surprised us all. Cora Lynn Bowers, our sixteenth grandchild (Evelyn’s 21st great-grandchild) was born @ 5:51pm, weighing 4 lbs. 15 oz. She and mommy are doing well. 

We traveled to New Holland the following week and stayed with Ike and Mim Nolt. Our greatest thanks to them for being the most gracious hosts. During this week we reconnected with many friends and relatives in the Lancaster County area.

Saturday evening the 19th of May we met with Trinity United Methodist Church. It is always a joy to reconnect with the people of Trinity as they have a huge heart for the people of Haiti. 

Sunday morning, we enjoyed fellowship with the Fair View Church of the Brethren in Masontown, PA. They have faithfully supported children in school for many years.

Sunday evening, we shared a delicious carry-in supper with the Canaan Church of the Brethren in Gibbon Glade, PA. Their hospitality was deeply felt as well as their heart for missions.

We covet your prayers as we move forward with this mission/relationship with our brothers and sisters in Haiti. Your love and support has blessed us beyond words.
