Student Support Program

What greater way to help build a country than to educate its children! When someone learns to read, write and think critically, their life begins to change from one generation to the next. Haiti’s literacy rate is about 61%, the lowest in the Western hemisphere. Ninety percent of schools in Haiti are non-public, which means almost everyone pays to go to school. The Haitian Constitution requires that public education be provided free to all people. No sitting government has ever fulfilled this obligation. 

In 1994 Vine Ministry sponsored 3 children in school. Today over 250 children and young adults have access to education through your generous gifts. You have supported students in fundamental (grades 1-9), secondary (grades 10-13), university and vocational schools.  Pastor Daniel says, “education is one of the greatest gifts we can give our children. Jesus and a good education will make a huge difference in the lives of young people.”  While the current situation on the ground is volatile, we are committed to providing educational opportunities to as many students as the Lord allows. 

As we distribute funds to each family, we confirm their enrollment in school and review their report card from the previous year. When security concerns allow, we take their picture and send you a photo of the child with their name and grade. (Subject to availability)

  • For $45/month ($540/year) you support a student’s education. The family receives the full amount of support needed for their student’s education (tuition, books, supplies, uniform), but the additional $15/month is placed in the School Operations Fund which will go toward books, benches, teacher supplies, salaries, and other costs to allow schools to operate. 
  • For $30/month ($360/year) you support a student’s education. The family receives the full amount of support needed for their students’ education. 
  • For $15/month ($180/year) you help support a student’s education. Your gift is combined with others to support a student’s education.
